Question by Chloe: Hello! How do I add a “clip art” background to microsoft office word when I write a letter?
I just discovered “clip art” and like to include things when I write letters or make signs. I see they have “backgrounds” but when I try to place it on the paper, it just takes up a big space and it won’t let me write on it or go as a background to whatever I already wrote. I HOPE THIS MAKES SENSE SORRY FOR MY COMPUTER IGNORANCE!
One other thing, how can I add a small clip art image and then write next to it rather than just above it or below it?

Hey Chloe – Simply right click on the image(s) you have inserted and go to Text Wrapping > Behind Text. For your second question, it is just like the first, but instead choose “Tight” or “Square” depending on the image and your personal choice.

Question by Chloe: Is there a way to make “CLIP ART” smaller or larger when writing a letter on microsoft office?
I like to add SMALL lil’ pictures but some of them come out HUGE and others tiny. How can I make them the size I want them?
And also, why can’t I write next to them but only above or beneath?

Chloe – Usually all you have to do is “grab one of the little boxes that appear on the corners of the clip art or the sides and drag them to expand or shrink the clip art. A lot of clip art is vector based so you should not have any problems with messing it up.

As for writing next to them or under or over or around depends on your version of Word. But for the later versions right click on the clip art then choose Text Wrapping. Hope that helps!
