Find the best Deal for Amazon Kindle and why Kindle is the best portable reading device!

The Amazon Kindle experience is different to any other portable reading device today. Let’s explore more closely. The Amazon Kindle supports all PDF formats to ensure all popular book formats can be viewed on the Kindle with its stunning sharp resolution.  The Kindle uses a proprietary electronic ink technology which makes viewing on the Kindle look like you were reading from a real book or newspaper and is very easy on the eye.

Comparing the Kindle and Sony Reader in the UK

Ok, I will assume you’re looking for the best eBook reader for use in the UK if you’ve read this far. One of the top factors in my decision to buy the Kindle is the vast amount of book titles and publications available in the Kindle store when compared to other download stores for use with other eBook reader devices.

In particular, I looked at both the Amazon Kindle and Sony reader in detail before I purchased my Kindle. The Sony reader uses the Waterstones online bookstore for it’s downloads in the UK. Now while the most popular book titles are available, the quantity of electronic book titles available is very poor when compared to the Kindle store.

Text to Speech functionality on the Amazon Kindle

If you have read about the new Amazon Kindle DX you will have noticed the new “text to speech” function which the Amazon Kindle boasts. This is surely another key factor which puts the Kindle over its competition. So what is this “text to speech” thing?

Well the Kindle reading device supports PDF and other eBook formats so you can read all your favorite books to your hearts content. However, should you get tired of reading or say you need to take a drive, this new function reads the book to you much like an audiobook on the iPod. This new feature is excellent to pass time when driving, relaxing or going to sleep.

Can I use the Amazon Kindle for uses other than reading?

The simple answer is yes. The Kindle is a fantastic companion while away from the office. The Kindle has email functionality letting you stay connected with people while you’re on the go. The Kindle also lets you convert your emailed office documents into Kindle format allowing you to view your office documents directly on your Amazon Kindle.

The Kindle is a great companion for all those crossword lovers boasting a fabulous dictionary support. The Kindle can tell you the meaning of a word providing you with multiple related words and definitions. Master your vocabulary and crossword skill with the Amazon Kindle.

Amazon Kindle: The Wireless Device using Whispernet technology available in the UK

Amazon Kindle’s new wireless feature allows you to download books, read email and access the web by wireless using its Whispernet technology. Wireless access is free using Amazon’s proprietary technology.

This new exciting feature allows you to access news, weather, Wikipedia and browse web sites to your heart’s content. The web browser is significantly faster than its previous model providing an enjoyable web experience while you’re on the move.

Final Thoughts and Conclusions

I hope you found the above review helpful and I have summarised the top features below which make the Amazon Kindle stand out from the other devices in the market.

-          Stores hundreds of books and can download from 90,000 books in the Kindle store

-          Downloads books wirelessly from the Kindle store without access to your home computer or having to be near a wifi spot

-          With the Kindle’s new text to speech function it can read the book to you. This is much like how audiobooks work on the iPod or iPhone

-          The Kindle is capable or viewing much more than books – blogs, newspapers, magazines, email, websites, etc.

-          Fabulous dictionary support to help with those frustrating crosswords

-          Email support on the Kindle

-          Converts popular office document formats to a format compatible with the Kindle allowing you to read on the Amazon Kindle wherever you are

-          Auto rotation allowing your book to change as you change when you rotate the Kindle. This works just like it does on the iTouch and iPhone.

-          Battery life is very impressive lasting a few days before your next charge even if you leave  the wireless on for emails. You can even read while the Kindle charges.

The Kindle is my favourite portable device. I love reading and I love the Kindle which combines  reading and online access allowing you to download more books without having to be beside your home computer or laptop. The Kindle experience feels just like you are reading a book or newspaper.

Amazon have certainly made excellent improvements on the DX model. With its new sharper resolution, wireless access via Whispernet and a vast unrivalled Kindle store for book content. You will love the new Kindle. Enjoy your books the Kindle way.

10 Ways to Successfully Sell Your Book on Amazon

10 Ways to Successfully Sell Your Book on Amazon

So you want to promote your new book. Would you believe I can help you take one giant leap in that direction with one simple word? That word is Amazon.com. Yep, it’s the internet behemoth that dwarfs most other such companies. And I’m going to offer you ten quick, fairly easy ways to promote your book on Amazon.

1) First, if you aren’t registered on Amazon, do so—then set up your profile. You can place your photo, your interests, your background, and, of course, your book title and an attractive, concise description of the book. You’re off to a great start.

2) I’m assuming that your publisher has placed your book for sale on the site. Nowadays, even most self-publishers or print-on-demand publishers include this in their sales package. Most publishers also include the book detail page. This tells readers the book price, number of pages, publisher name, book summary, and reviews/endorsements if you’ve received any. However, ask your publisher to also include the Search Inside option. This allows interested parties to check your back cover, your table of contents, etc. If your publisher doesn’t do this, you will have to mail Amazon a copy of your book so they can copy some pages out of it for the Search Inside option.

3) Amazon has a feature called Listmania. This offers individuals like yourself the opportunity to put together a list of some of your favorite books on different subjects or genres. For example, you might make a list of some of your favorite novels. If your own book is a novel, you would want to place your book somewhere on the list. That way, when readers read through your list, they will see your title and maybe order a copy. How’s that for crass self-promotion?

4) Fill out some So You’d Like to…Guides. On your profile page you’ll see a place to do this. On Amazon, people write brief articles like: So You’d Like To Be More Popular or So You’d Like to Learn How to do Plumbing or whatever. If your book is about becoming more popular, you’ll write a short article about popularity, including your book title and some other book titles about the same subject. When interested parties see your So You’d Like To… page, they’ll click on it and read it. Then there’s a fairly good chance they may click on your book title. Then, wonder of wonders, they may even buy your book so they can learn how to be more popular! Cool, huh?

5) You will get a lot more attention and action on Amazon if you review books. You can write a review for any book. One hundred book reviews seems to be a magic number for grabbing significant attention on the site. Don’t be overwhelmed by that number. Just set a goal of, say, reviewing 5-10 books per week and you’ll soon reach the 100 mark.

6) Again, this may seem like embarrassing self-promotion, but you might want to ask friends and relatives to write a positive review about your book and give it a five-star rating. You should probably just ask them to write a review of your book on Amazon but, hopefully, it will be understood that you expect a good review and a decent star rating.

7) There is a wiki or dynamic book encyclopedia on Amazon too. The Amazon people call it Amapedia. You can use this to describe your book. Remember, this is not a review where you express opinions—just the facts, maam (or sir). It’s a dictionary-type description of your book and its contents. This is another way to get your book out there for people to see.

8) Amazon also has a blog and here you can say almost anything about your book or what you’ve been reading. Just make sure it’s in good taste and doesn’t contain inappropriate language. Maybe you’ll pick up some bloggers who are interested in what you write.

9) A major objective of your profile, your book reviews, your listmania lists, your blogging is to build a reputation as an expert in some area or areas. Once people begin to see you as an expert, they’re more likely to buy your book. Don’t expect to be tagged an expert within a few weeks. It will likely take some hard work and some time, but it’s worth it in the end.

10) The last suggestion can really result in some sales but you’ve got to shell out some fairly serious money. It’s called BXGY. What it does is pair your book with a top selling book. Customers are told, “If you buy this popular book, you should also consider buying this one too” (your book). The catch is that pairing your book with a winner costs 00 per month. If you’ve got the extra money and believe your book has enough merit to sell well with a companion book, then try it out for a month. Who knows? You may earn more than the 00 in royalties on your book sales. (Remember that you won’t see this royalty money until your publisher pays you for that quarter).

So dive into the Amazon site and begin learning the ropes. It will take some time to navigate the site and find the various opportunities described above, but it will be worth your time. I wish you the best in selling your book. It may not be a New York Times bestseller, but if you can sell a fair number of copies you can be proud as an author and gain some financial profit along the way. I wish you the best.

Samsung Un55B7000 Led – The Best Tv Of 2009, Neat Amazon Video Features! Weak Speakers

Samsung Un55B7000 Led – The Best Tv Of 2009, Neat Amazon Video Features! Weak Speakers

CNET called the Samsung UN55B7000 LED the TV with the second best picture quality of any TV they tested behind the discontinued Pioneer Kuro plasma. However, since the Samsung Samsung UN55B7000 LED is much more energy efficient, thinner, lighter, is 240 HZ, and includes two remotes, I’d say the Samsung UN55B8500 is probably a contender for the best TV ever made.

The black levels are amazing! It’s actually hard to tell where the black bars of a widescreen movie end and run into the bezel since the Samsung is so close to absolute black.

On the other hand, I found that the speakers on the TV were pretty mediocre. This TV’s picture quality is superb, but not the sound. You’ll want to buy extra speakers of some sort.

The 4 HDMI ports are nice to have, but there’s only one component/RCA input (which will be taken by your Wii if you own one). The TWO included remotes are great; One is small and simple, the other is an RF remote featuring a spinwheel among other controls.

The other strong surprise is just how well the TV works with Amazon! Once you register your TV with Amazon (a slick 5 minute process online), then any movie you rent via the Amazon website will be available to watch on the TV set, and I discovered that sometimes when purchasing Blu-Ray movies from Amazon, you can watch a free digital version of it on your TV while you wait for the mail to come! It works super well, you just browse Amazon as you normally would, and your purchased/rented movies automatically show up as available movies on your TV!

Granted the Yahoo! widgets (including the one for Amazon VOD) are pretty slow, but it’s tolerable .

Otherwise the TV is just great! Note that you’ll want to upgrade your firmware when you first get the TV to avoid the “crop circle” problem, but once you do, your movies and TV shows are going to be even more fun because of the outstanding punch of the picture. I love mine so far!
