You see, there are just a few sites that really stand out from the rest, and that’s why I call them the best real estate investing sites. They are the sites that give you the best combination of information and expertise, and they give it to you for free or very low cost.

Is it best to buy stocks, bonds or mutual funds? Considering the economic environment we’re in, you might be thinking that it might be safer to hide your money under the mattress like grandma used to do!

Just turn on the television, and you’ll see that real estate is hot. Home renovations, home flipping, buying and selling – all are topics of reality shows that many tune into with fanatic fervor. When it’s all over the television, then you know it’s everywhere.

Before you start looking for the best place to invest money, you need to know how to select the right investments. Take a lesson from Warren Buffet and buy stock while the price is down and then sell it once the price goes back up. When the stock of an excellent company is down, there is no better time to purchase your share.

The reason most people are poor is because they don’t invest. The reason why most people who invest are poor is because they don’t want to take risks. Oh yes, they want 30% return on their investment per annum but mention risk and they run for the nearest bank. This article isn’t for those people.

Growth stocks generally will fatten your bank account faster but there is more risk whereas value stocks will generally grow at a slower more sustainable pace but probably won’t give you ulcers.

The first thing to keep in mind is that you shouldn’t be fooled by fancy letters after an author’s name. Alot of people who have obtained master’s degrees or doctorates in a particular field have spent most of their time in libraries and classrooms.

However, you must be also aware that there are several books written by relationship experts with a string of degrees behind their names. Unfortunately, some of these books have only researched theoretical or academic content. These are books written for the sake of writing.

There’s been a huge rush in the interest in homeopathic medicine in the last few years. People are becoming more and more interested in decreasing the amount of chemicals they put in their body. Opening a store that focuses on selling natural remedies and books on alternative health options can be a huge money maker, and a lot of fun to run.

It takes the best stock market predictions to achieve top stock market results, but choosing the best stocks to invest in is not easy. One approach professional investors and traders use is the fundamental analysis of stocks, where others prefer the technical analysis of stock market trend.

MOREOVER, it will give you NOTES that you can use to review the entire book. Try this strategy: Get a good book on making money. Read it and anytime something jumps out at you start making marks in your book right there on the page where the new information was discovered. After you are done reading the book.

Self publishers need to have a good solid marketing plan to sell books and should be written well in advance of writing your book and in place a year prior to publishing your book. Make sure you know you have a market for your book before you write it. If you’ve written a ‘how to’ book you’ll find people are always seeking ‘how to’ information making your book easy to sell; in fact the most sought after items on the Internet are information products. Your book selling, book marketing, and book promotion planning should begin before the manuscript is completed.

Using press releases can be a very effective marketing tool if used properly. Make sure your press release spells out the ‘who, what, where, when, and why.’ Direct mail a press release to all the trade journals in your field over and over again, not just once; you can use the same release.

Your book press release should not be written as you would a sales letter or flier, it should be written for the editor and tell about your book in a factual way, no opinion or glowing remarks. Send out the same press release to the editor of your local daily newspaper every week until you are called for an interview or are written up. Invest in press release submitting software and set aside time every week to send out a press release online to the press directories.

Send out at least ten press releases to the print and broadcast media in your area every month. When picked up by wire services, a press release can easily end up generating hundreds of mentions for your book through syndication.

Contact non-bookstore booksellers and offer to leave books on consignment. Make five telephone calls a day that relate to marketing your book. When you get a nice write up or feature about you and/or your book, have it laminated and set it up on an easel at trade shows.

Book signings don’t sell many books for publishers and are often a waste of time; better to spend it elsewhere. Make sure to promote and market your book each and every day, both online and offline. Make sure not to overlook the Internet; get yourself interviewed or profiled for sites both about writing, publishing and about the topics covered in your book. Place free ads periodically for your book’s website on Craigslist in different categories to drive even more traffic to your website.

Local radio shows and television appearances are good but are often forgotten within hours of the broadcast; make sure to make or get a copy of any television broadcast for future promotions. I’ve seen publishers lose a lot of money paying for expensive display ads, so beware if you do this; I don’t advise it in the beginning — get your feet wet first so you know what you’re doing.

Women buy more books then men; see how you can fit your book into the women’s market. Find a non-exclusive distributor with a good reputation to carry your book for the book store trade, as well as for other retailers. Remember to make sure your book is listed in Books-in-Print; don’t assume it’s already listed.

Submit articles to online article directories that focus on your book’s topic to drive customers to your website. Arrange to speak at local, regional and national events that relate to your book topic; bring books along and have an associate sell them at the back of the room.

Build a web site that provides another avenue for ordering, a virtual online press kit and link exchanges with sites that relate to your topic. If your book solves a problem, focus on this in your marketing.

Writing & Publishing Tips: How to Get a Top Literary Agent & Sign That Coveted 6 Figure Deal

Top literary agents get about 400-1000 unsolicited queries every month from hopeful book authors. Publishing houses sometimes juggle 5000. Most of my private clients and participants in my seminar, How To Get A Six-Figure Book Advance, ask me “how is an author supposed to get an agent’s attention when there is so much competition?”

First of all, don’t write a book — write a book proposal. Publishers buy ideas not books. To capture a reputable literary agent’s attention you’ll need to show that you’re a media star, or a star in the making. Good writing can be bought but star power can’t.

Here are 5 more tips to landing a top literary agent & a six-figure advance:

1. Do your research.

Literary agents specialize in very specific interests. For example, my agent loves tearjerkers but won’t take on books that involve children in peril. You want an agent who has represented books similar to yours, who sells books on a regular basis, who is devoted to you, and has the time to give you a little guidance through the literary labyrinth.

Sometimes a newer, less experienced literary agent who is hungry for business is more dedicated and has more time to spend with you than an established one with a reputable cadre of authors. I recommend 2 ways to find the literary agent right for you:

Look in the acknowledgements of books similar to your topic. A happy author always thanks his literary agent. Once you’ve located your ideal agents become familiar with their tastes, learn everything you can about their interests, pet peeves and preferences, and review their websites for submission guidelines. Show that knowledge in your query letter or initial phone conversation.

Read Publisher’s Weekly, Publisher’s Lunch, and Variety to see who sold what and for how much. You will get a sense of an agent’s sensibility and be able to speak knowledgeably about the types of books they prefer when you know what’s happening in the industry in general and in your area of expertise in particular. You’ll know more than most people who submit proposals as you’ll be apprised of books that aren’t even published yet and movie deals in the making. And you’ll get a sense of market trends.

2. Write a book proposal that reads like a thriller.

After you’ve located the agents you want to approach, the next step is to complete your book proposal. Once interested by your call or query letter the very best literary agents move at hyper speed. They’ll want to see your book proposal–now. They’ll either ask you to Fed Ex or email it.

There is a real art to writing a best-selling book proposal that makes the literary agent you’ve chosen say, “I want this person as a client”. To make your book proposal read in one sitting you’ll want to write in short paragraphs with strong headlines. Be sure to give the chosen agent an immediate impression of how your book will read by writing the proposal in the same style as your book.

Find unusual, quirky, provocative tidbits about your subject that will entice the literary agent to say, “Wow, I never knew this.” Imagine the kind of tips that a terrific magazine article would include. When an editor at a top New York publishing house is reading your book proposal they are thinking, what kind of media exposure will we be able to get for this book? Can we get magazine feature articles, newspaper pieces, radio shows? Will the subject matter and the author interest the producers of Good Morning America, the Today Show, CNN, or Oprah?

3. Prove you have a platform.

The one thing that thrills a New York publisher the most is your platform. Your platform is simply your reach. How many people are influenced by your ideas worldwide? To simplify this even further, a publisher wants to know one thing and one thing only (once they are interested in the subject matter of your book), and that is…how many books are you going to sell and to whom. You’ll need to demonstrate that you’re a great media guest, that you have an audience eager to snap up your books and that you have a proven track record for selling your books or wares.

4. Reveal how your past performance predicts future behavior.

Map out each venue and determine how many people are in attendance and how many of those people will buy your book. Include workshops, seminars, fairs, media appearances, book signings, keynotes, teleseminars, webinars, events, newsletter lists, blogs, partnerships etc. Quantify everything in great detail. Estimate and base potential sales on past sales you’ve completed.

5. Show you are the one.

Show that there is a clear need for your book and that you are the only one who can write it. In other words what problem are you solving and why are you the undisputed expert? What gap in the market are you filling? One of my clients whose topic was about how to be the very best at what you do and who you are, had a black belt, was a concert violinist and had given seminars at The White House. She walked her talk, and lived her words. You need to have top-notch skills in order to gain the interest of a high caliber literary agent.

Follow these tips, and you can land a top literary agent and a six-figure deal. I hope to see your name on the New York Times bestseller list!

Intermediate Blackjack Strategies the Streakcount System

The intermediate blackjack strategy discussed in this chapter centers around learning a simple plus minus card counting system. This is not as difficult as it first appears. In fact I have taught thousands of average players in my schools and seminars the technique of card counting. Take a positive approach that you can and will learn it and I guarantee you will be rewarded with many profitable blackjack sessions. Before I get into the discussion of card counting, I want to digress and summarize the history of winning online blackjack strategies and give credit to the individuals who have made major contributions to our understanding of blackjack.

It all started in 1953 when Roger Baldwin and co¬workers undertook the first scientific analysis of the game of blackjack. Using hand calculators, they were able to develop the first basic blackjack playing strategy which they published in the Journal of the American Statistical Association in 1956. Baldwin and his co-workers then published a book, Playing Blackjack to Win in 1956. In the early 1960s, Dr. Edward Thorp used high speed computers to develop the first card counting system for blackjack. He published his ten count system in the classic book, Beat the Dealer, which became a best seller. His message was quite clear. Blackjack is a game of skill, not just luck, and the skillful player can beat the online casino. The casinos in Las Vegas began to panic after Thorp’s revelation. They started to change the rules of blackjack but in the process upset the majority of blackjack players who had no clue as to how to win. Although it was theoretically possible to have the edge over the casinos with Thorp’s card counting system, it was extremely difficult to implement for the average person in actual casino play. Therefore, blackjack popularity grew tremendously because of this discovery that it was a “beatable game.

Ironically, the casino’s profits also increased because more and more players flocked to play the beatable game but did not possess the skills or knowledge to do it. The next blackjack guru that came on the scene was Lawrence Revere. His book, Playing Blackjack as a Business, simplified card counting systems and also presented the basic strategy in colored charts to make learning the strategy even easier. Revere’s book started me on a career of doing my own studies about the games. Julian Braun, who worked for IBM and collaborated with Revere, further refined the basic strategy and the high-low count developed earlier by Harvey Dubner. His book, How to Play Winning Blackjack, clearly explained the mathematics of the basic strategy charts. I found Julian’s book to be extremely helpful to explain the reasons for certain basic strategy plays to novice players. Unfortunately, the book is now out of print. Other authors and researchers came onto the scene in the 70′s and 80′s. Stanford Wong, a professional blackjack player, wrote the classic book, Professional Blackjack. This was and still is the bible for card counters. I’ve learned a tremendous amount about blackjack through the writings of Stanford Wong he still authors books and a newsletter. The late Ken Uston popularized the concept of card counting teams in his book, Million Dollar Blackjack. Ian Anderson gave us new techniques for disguising our card counting skills in his book, turning the Tables on Las Vegas. Stanley Roberts started one of the first schools to teach players how to count. He was also one of the first to publish a national gambling magazine, Gambling Times, devoted to gambling. Other major contributors to. our knowledge of blackjack during this era included: Peter Griffin detailed mathematical studies and book, The Theory of Blackjack, Carlen Chambliss and Thomas Roginski Fundamentals of Blackjack, a very thorough survey of the entire field of blackjack, Arnold Snyder monthly blackjack publication, Blackjack Forum, Lance Humble and Carl Cooper World’s Greatest Blackjack Book, detailed study of his card counting system, Jerry Patterson Blackjack – A Winner’s Handbook and New Studies into Target Blackjack Systems, Steve Forte Read the Dealer, which explains how to read dealer tells,

The Jungle Book
This was the last film that Walt Disney himself worked on in 1967. The film was based on the classic book by Rudyard Kipling. A string of Disney songs was featured in the film that became well-liked and is one of the most popular films in the Disney collection.

Fantasia (1990 re-issue)
This movie features a lot of popular Disney characters that includes Mickey Mouse . At any rate, it has a classic soundtrack and was reissued in 1990 where a digital sound was applied. The film won two honoree academy awards for its soundtrack, and has been safeguarded in the United States film registry for its value.

Beauty and the Beast
This was a Disney film at their best in 1991. The movie has great animation and broad-way like musical, and a strong supporting cast which ultimately appeals to all ages, a Disney film like no other. Aside from being one of the classic Disney films, it is also considered as one the best films of its decade. The first animation to be nominated for best picture at the academy awards.

Aladdin
After Beauty and the Beast Aladdin followed and became another great film. It mixed action, romance with comedy, especially with the personality filled genie involved. It was a box office success and put the film as one of the highest grossing animated films of Disney.

The Lion King
This film is notable for its excellent animation work that made its way in theater in 1994. Backed by a great soundtrack and with an epic story; it is one of Disney’s best films.

Toy Story
Toy Story was the first 3D CGI Disney film to venture away from the standard 2D animation that they usually employ. It was a tech marvel in 1995, and a finely crafted film to boot.

Finding Nemo (2003)
Finding Nemo was created after the success of Toy Story as 3D CGI. However, Finding Nemo exceeded Toy Story as Disney’s biggest hit to date. The cute characters made a good market with children and adults smashing box office records.

The Price of Being a Genius? 10,000 Hours

Recently, I was extremely humbled (and a bit embarrassed) when someone who read my books came up to me and called me a genius. ” You are truly a genius’, he said. “How are you able to write a best-selling book so effortlessly in just 30 days?” (he was referring to my latest book ‘Profit from the Panic that has topped the best-sellers list). “And how are you able to speak in front of so many people and talk non-stop for 8 hours without feeling nervous and without requiring to use any kind of notes?”

“Normal people can’t do what you do”, he said. ” You must be just a genius!”. What many people do not realize is that my “Genius” ability was not something I was born with. In fact, when I was younger, I had absolutely no natural aptitude in writing or speaking. Back in school, I was never really good at writing English essays. My usual scores would be ‘C’s and ‘D’s. If I was lucky, I would get a ‘B’ once in a while.

While talented students with the ‘gift of the gab’ were often given the chance to become emcees during school events, I was a shy kid who never dared to speak up.

So, how did I develop my ‘Genius’ in speaking and writing that has helped me become a leader in my field? The answer is through over 10,000 hours of CONSISTENT HARD WORK.

How I Developed My Genius in Writing
I first got interested in writing a the age of 15 (when I was in secondary three). At that time, I was very passionate about learning and using accelerated learning techniques and self motivation methods to improve in my studies. When I started to do well, I wanted to share this knowledge with all my friends. So, I wrote hand-written articles on study tips (on A4 paper) than I would photocopy and distribute to my friends in class. I wrote articles entitled ‘How to improve your memory’, ‘the secret of speed reading’, ‘ smart exam tips’ etc..

At the time, my writing skills were not so good so I took a long time just to put my thoughts down on paper and I revised them over 8 times until I got them right. This was a time (1989) when i did not know how to use a computer, so I had to write and re-write my articles by hand until they were good enough. Besides doing my usual school homework, I spent about 2 hours a day,everyday to write these articles.

Three years later, I revised and refined my articles and sent them to Teenage Magazine which had them published in their monthly ‘Study Smart’ column. At the age of 18, I became a part time writer, contributing motivational articles to Teenage Magazine for 0 an article. Slowly but surely, my gift in writing developed.

At the age of 20 (when I was in the Army), I got the inspiration to write an entire book on empowering students to do well in school. The book would be called ‘I Am Gifted, So Are You!’ Was it easy for me to write an entire book? To tell you the truth…I almost died in the process. I spent hours a day, late into the night (after Army training) ‘trying’ hard to write each page. I would write a sentence, delete it and re-write again. It took 4-5 excruciating hours just to write ONE PAGE!

So, how long did it take me to write my first draft of the manuscript? 3 YEARS! After I had completed the manuscript at age 23 (3 years later), I searched for a publisher to publish the book. I was rejected by over 9 of them until Oxford University Press decided to give me a chance. After the editor-in-charge read my work, she told me that my ideas were god but my writing was COMMERCIALLY UNVIABLE (which is a nice way of saying that my English sucked). She asked me to re-write the whole book. I almost fainted! It took me 3 years to write my first draft and now I have to re-write the whole thing again?

Thankfully, I didn’t give up! I took another 1 year to re-write the book, based on the advice and pointers the editor gave me. Finally, ‘I Am Gifted, So Are You!’ was published in 1998 and went on to stay on the best sellers list for 8 years. After the success of the first book, I then wrote ‘Master Your Mind, Design Your Destiny’ that was also very difficult (it took me 2 years), then I wrote ‘How to Multiply Your Child’s Intelligence’, ‘Clueless in Starting a Business’, ‘ Secrets of Self-Made Millionaires’, ‘Secrets of Millionaire Investors’ etc…. It was only AFTER I wrote 8 books that I developed my GENIUS for now writing a best-selling book in 30 days. In fact, I can type almost as fast as I can talk now.

How I Developed My Genius in Speaking
My genius in speaking also came about the same way. Many people say that I have a talent for speaking but then do not realize the hours I have put in speaking over the years to develop my abilities.

So, how did I first get the opportunity to become a public speaker? Well, for the first 8 YEARS of my speaking career, I spoke for free to churches, bookshops, schools, community centres etc… Why? Well, its because nobody would ever pay for me to speak so I could only speak for free. I started out when I was in secondary three (age 15), where I would give free motivational talks to students in holiday camps. At the age of 24, I went round speaking in bookshops three times a week to promote my newly launched book. Again, it was only after 7 years of speaking of at least 3 times a week that I developed my speaking talent!

Anyone Can Be a Genius in Something, You Just Have to Pay the Price
Many people think that talent and ‘Genius’ is something lucky people are born with. The truth is that true talent is only developed after years and years of focus and persistent hard work on a particular skill. If YOU had spent the same number of hours as me speaking for 7 years, you too will be able to speak very confidently today without using notes. If YOU has spent as much time as me writing and re-writing books and articles, you too would be a great writer today.

The Price of Being a Genius? 10,000 Hours
So, how many hours of hard work must you put into a certain skill before you become great at it? According to research published in the best-selling book, ‘ OUTLIERS- by Malcolm Gladwell’, it takes 10,000 hours to become a genius at something.

When I read the book, I indeed found it to be so true. Indeed, I did spend more than 10,000 hours on writing and speaking UNTIL I finally became great at it.

The Best in the World Put in 10,000 Hours
If you study the most successful people in the world, you will also realize that their genius only came after more than 10,000 hours of focus and hard work.

What makes Tiger Woods the greatest golfer of all time? Well, his father taught him to play golf at age 3! From the age of 5, Tiger spent at least 4-5 hours every single day hitting 800 golf balls until he could hit them perfectly. It was only after 18 years of non-stop practice (4-5 hours a day) that he became world number one at the age of 21!

What makes Warren Buffett (the world’s richest man) the greatest investor in the world? Well, he started reading financial books and began buying his first stocks at the age of 8! While his friends were out playing games and reading comics, young Warren spent hours a day reading annual reports and looking at stock charts!

How about Bill Gates? Well, many people know him for being a school droput who started a computer company called Microsoft and through sheer brilliance and ambititon, built it into the biggest computer software company in the world. What actually happened behind the scenes? How did he become a genius at computers? Well young Bill got the chance to do real time programming at eighth grade (age 14) because he attended a school that had a computer lab (a rarity at the time). From the age of 14, Gates spent an average of 8 hours a day, 7 days a week in the computer lab while all his friends were out partying and playing.

In his book, ‘Outliers’, Malcolm Gladwell, writes:
“ The closer psychologist look at the careers of the gifted, the SMALLER the role innate talent seems to play and the BIGGER the role preparation seems to play”

Psychologist K. Anders Ericsson studied gifted musicians. What was concluded from the study was that they couldn’t find any natural musicians who floated effortlessly to the top while practicing a fraction of what their peers did. Nor could they find anyone who worked harder than anyone else yet did not make it to the top.

In other words:
“ Practice isn’t the thing you do once you’re good. It’s the thing you do that makes you good.”

Why Some People Never Become Successful
Most people do not have the patience and faith that their hard work will pay off. They want instant success and instant results. Once they don’t get it, they think that they lack the talent and give up. So they never become great in anything!

The Lesson
The lesson I would like to share with you is that in order for you to become successful in any field, you have develop a talent for it. To develop a talent for anything, you must have the discipline to work on it for hours and hours until you master it!

So, before you can succeed as trader, you have to first put in 10,000 hours studying stock charts.
Before you can become a best-selling author, you have to write for 10,000 hours
Before you can succeed in gold, you have to hit golf balls for 10,000 hours
Before you can succeed in sales, you must spend 10,000 hours selling in front of customers

Pay the price and you will be a genius!

Have you ever gotten half way through a series of books only to discover that your local book store has discontinued carrying the series? Or perhaps you are looking for a hard to find kind of book on a specialized subject that simply isn’t carried by most book stores. If either of these scenarios have happened to you then perhaps it is time that you decided to shop for books online.

Shopping for books online opens a whole world of bookshops for you to search for that special book of your choice or even just a type of book you are looking to read. What is even better is you can shop for any number of books from the comfort of your own home. Shopping for books online can save you money too as you can compare prices from store to store, look for discount coupons and sales.

How Do I Find the Exact Book I want Online?
Finding the exact book you want online is really quite simple. If you know the title of the book you are looking for simply type it into your search browser. You will be presented with an entire list of stores where this book can be found at. You can then check out the price of the book at each individual store as well as how soon the book will be shipped and the return policy if they have one. Nothing could be simpler than that.
If you are not sure of the books title but know the author or the publisher you can search using either one of those choices and get a list of books by that author or publisher. To narrow down the choices of books by the publisher you will want to search by the subject matter as well.

What if I am Just Looking for a Great Book to Read?

Normally, if a book is in stock you should receive it within 7-10 days of ordering. But be sure to check with the store you purchase from on shipping.
