In January Jon Palestini’s chest tattoo was filled in by Derek Hutchison at Sacred Skin Tattoo in Des Moines Iowa. Palestini talks about his work as a clothing designer with his company Nightmare City Apparel and how he came up with the “The Zombie Line” while being tattooed. Vitae Design Collective is a boutique store that only sells art, jewelry, and apparel by regional artists and they stock Palestini’s clothing line. Designer Erin O’Grady from Vitae shares some of her birthday champagne that has an excitable cork. At the Des Moines Tattoo Convention ten of Palestini’s friends, including me, model his zombie clothing line including Kathy Landin and her wild hair, Dani Ausen with close to Kathy wild hair, Scott Rocketship with a bloody beard, and the other half of Nightmare City Apparel Josh Adams who applied all the zombie makeup to the models lurching down the runway.
