@jobidaker
Making the simple complicated is commonplace; making the complicated simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.
—Charles Mingus
Fitzgerald’s skatting is the definite highlight imo.
@jobidaker The true sign of a great artist is one who makes it look easy. To the fan it needs to appear simple and that’s a good thing.
the Other tenor player on the last clip??
Birds smirking at ‘Bean’ having to lip sync his solo and probably wondering how to bluff it when it’s his turn.
It’s great to have the full session and ont the sample usually shown in documentaries about Jazz…
I may be a teen who listens to metal, but man i tell you this is some good music. Takes skill and a lot of soul. I love it. good chill music.
@MrIanbevan
prolly cause they all dead forty years or more lol
splendid
@selmansax He never knew how to read music and knew all the Big Band arrangements by heart…Buddy is just not like the rest of us
I think when people listen to those Buddy Rich bus “rant” tapes they should put it in context, its not simply a madman flying off the handle. He wasnt lying when he said he had played with the best people in the business.
impressionnant budy rich!!!!!!! quelle énergie !!
Especial…
@jobidaker Thankfully jazz is both simple and complex. You never know what you are going to get!
I love the brush sticks
so is coffee.
Kingny17 the search enginedoesn’t work on priorities, hannah probably had more search requests due to a much younger and larger fanbase. Hence her name appearing first as a suggestion. Its just a search program…..R.I.P Mr Jones
as a testament to that statement. when you type in the first three letters of hanks name hannah montana comes up. priorities much?
2:59 should be charlie’s immortalized image
We just don’t see enough of this great music around these days.
R.I.P. Hank.
I read about this footage in a book about Parker, but the book said that the footage was silent, as the audio was missing. Nice to hear this track, then.
Hank Jones passed away today. He was 92.
Lester Young is a soulful motherfucker.
Like butter left in the sun. RIP Mr Hank Jones.
RIP Mr Jones. Heaven got a bit more melodic and cool today.
