Man its amazing how much we evolved. And look how stick thin the models are and the first one they looked so much bigger! Its amazing how clothes can change us sometimes.

I think my favorite style was the second one, hobble skirts and all. Very elegant, but a little less restricting than the style before it. It’s funny when the one girl starts coughing when they’re smoking, haha.

Ah, the Poiret looks make me cry with envy. Such vibrant colors! I feel like, after the New Look, the clothes just started to become boring (not a negative comment against the video; just commenting on general trends in fashion)

I absolutely love this video! I especially like the pleated dress of the girl on the left during the 1920′s Chanel montage. I wish I could find something like that now! I wouldn’t wear it with a sweater and jacket as shown in the video, and it would probably be better with a slightly more defined waist, as a drop waist can be unflattering on all but the skinniest figures, but I just love it!

My disapproval stems from what the speaker got wrong. The House of Worth was founded in the mid 19th century (not the early 19th century.) He did not found couture, He was a couturier who founded ;an organization to limit the number of couturiers and give the founders more power,

  27. msjillcey1 says:

Frederick Worth was the “father of Haute Couture” as he dictated to client what they would wear, not what they wanted. RTW for women really got into full swing after 1900

it’s much better learning through a virtual class enviroment then learning through reading and articles, etc.
