Born of Hope is an independent feature film inspired by the Lord of the Rings and produced by Actors at Work Productions in the UK. www.bornofhope.com Thanks to Chris Bouchard and the H4G team for putting the film here. It should also be on it’s proper Youtube channels soon ActorsatWork www.youtube.com BornofHope www.youtube.com Check them out for more videos regarding the film including the audio commentary. www.youtube.com A scattered people, the descendants of storied sea kings of the ancient West, struggle to survive in a lonely wilderness as a dark force relentlessly bends its will toward their destruction. Yet amidst these valiant, desperate people, hope remains. A royal house endures unbroken from father to son. This 70 minute original drama is set in the time before the War of the Ring and tells the story of the Dúnedain, the Rangers of the North, before the return of the King. Inspired by only a couple of paragraphs written by Tolkien in the appendices of the Lord of the Rings we follow Arathorn and Gilraen, the parents of Aragorn, from their first meeting through a turbulent time in their people’s history.

a 5 star for this short film.. very very nice!! Thanks, i really enjoyed it.
good movie foreal
@SeanGordonXRX Showing emotion IS manly. Not showing it is adolescent. So don’t let these naysayers bother you.
@Rahavin1 No they are not…
Why do guys think that hiding you emotions is manly and showing them means your gay?
@SeanGordonXRX no… emotions are gay
simply amazing
The actor of Arathorn really makes a brilliant father for Aragorn. He actually looks a lot like Viggo for example at 42:40 :D Good actor too .
cool one!
5 stars
Omg, I’m completely amazed. You made an excellent and professional-looking movie with such a tiny budget! I hope you’re proud of you film! thanks for bringing this to fans :) and omg kate, you got so much talent, as an actor and as a director!

It’s been up for a year and I haven’t even heard if it….:( better late than never…
Holy crap, that was even better than The Hunt For Gollum!
I really enjoyed this movie, thanks for bringing this to all LOTR fans
nice movie.Great job.Thx you!

This was far beyond my expectations. Amazingly well done. It even had those realistic aspects that popular movies normally lack, such as that bloody wound which made me shudder. You don’t see that kind of stuff at the cinema.
Well Done Kate Madison. You should be proud of your film. I enjoyed it very much.
Hey what happened to the movie – I want my sister and brother in-law to watch it and it is not there. I am sad it is such an awesome movie.
GREAT film but the asians in it loses it marks in my books,Tolkien based the LOTR on europe and europe history and myth,a byproduct of that means the characters should all be white,its small detail but its important if you are going to keep to tolkiens works
the orcs are portrayed much darker than in the LOTR a better portrayal of them i think
Amazing movie.!!! This could have been in the theater. What excellent acting , music, scenery etc… Tolkien would be proud. Thank you!!!!
I enjoyed this more than LOTR. It has more character development. Good job.
I’m really surprised!!!
Congrats for the movie! It’s completely amazing!
